Inorganic Solids and Nanostructured Materials

General Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry I, Physical Chemistry (Basics), basic cristallography



Objective

Give to the MA student an overview of inorganic nanomaterials and their properties. Show them the challenges of getting always smaller (synthesis, characterization)



Contents

 Description of fullerenes, nanotubes, graphene. Methods of preparation  Nano in the z direction: (ultra)thin coatings and properties  Inorganic materials: Carbides, nitrides  Characterization of nano-compounds: AFM, STM, FEG-SEM, AES
