Introduction to the quantum theory of solid state and solid surfaces, in particular, to the theory of metals, semiconductors, superconductivity, and surface quantum processes



Contents

Solid state ; elements of crystallography ; electronic states in periodic potentials; Bloch theorem and Brillouin zones ; energy band theory ; quantization of crystal vibrations ; phonons ; electronic conductivity ; metals, semiconductors and insulators ; superconductivity ; BCS theory and Josephson effect ; surface electronic states ; work function and electron affinity ; surface quantum excitations ; defects and surface reconstructions ; surface electron transfer processes
