EQUAL TREATMENT OF MEN AND WOMEN IN EMPLOYMENT

Prerequisites

Master of laws, with at least a sound knowledge of the basics of EU law



Objective

The application of a fundamental principle, which cuts across the whole social law system and entails the interaction of EU law and domestic law, is examined systematically



Contents

Equal treatment of men and women in pay, employment conditions and social security is approached through the EU and domestic legislation and case-law (including that of the Belgian Constitutional Court) as well as the practice of political and social actors

Teaching methods

The method combines the invited experts' lectures with the students' personal and collective work of research and synthesis, course taught in French



Assessment

Based on the student's written and oral contribution to the research work, participation in the course and brief final synthesis test
